After rinsing the rice, soak rice in water (2 cups of water: 1 cup of rice) for 30 min. or more. Start cooking. Check for doneness. Add water if rice is still not cooked through and continue cooking.
Also, you may want to break the rice (using a blender, just a quick “pulse”- blend), and after rinsing, follow the same procedure above. Breaking the rice will allow a quicker and more thorough absorption of the water by the rice and will produce a softer-textured rice.
Also, you may want to mix the red rice with your favorite white rice (start w/ a proportion that makes it ideal for you, for example, 1 cup white rice and ¼ cup brown rice) and follow the same procedure in #1.
